Itinerary
Traditional Lei greeting upon arrival; city tour of Honolulu; Parker Ranch; Volcanoes National Park; the Kohala Coast; Kona coffee plantations; Waimea Canyon; Captain Cook’s Landing
DAY 1 THURSDAY
Oahu -Waikiki Beach. Arrival in Honolulu, transfer to your hotel for an evening at leisure.
DAY 2 FRIDAY
Oahu - The Big Island
Early morning departure from your hotel for a scenic City Tour of Honolulu, with views of Iolani Palace (the only Royal Palace in the United States), King Kamehameha’s statue, the state capitol and Washington Place, en-route to the airport. Take a short flight to the largest but youngest island in the Hawaiian chain, the “Big Island” of Hawaii. The tour will continue with a brief drive through Hilo and proceed north along a 4 mile scenic drive to Akaka Falls. These spectacular waterfalls are set amidst some of the most stunning tropical botanical flora and fauna in Hawaii. Continue along the Hamakua Coast to Parker Ranch in Waimea. This vast Hawaiian dynasty is spread over 225,000 acres, making it the largest privately owned ranch in the United States. While at the Ranch, visit Puuopelu, a century old elegant mansion, belonging to the owner of the Ranch where he showcases paintings of more than 100 world renowned artists including Degas, Renoir, Pissarro, and Chagall. Upon departing Parker Ranch, the tour continues down the slopes of the volcanoes and over ancient lava flows along the Kohala Coast, to the picturesque and historical town of Kailua Kona, your final destination for today.
DAY 3 SATURDAY
The Big Island
Enjoy a day of leisure in Kona. You have the choice of exploring the Historic Town, taking a snorkeling tour, or relaxing by the pool.
DAY 4 SUNDAY
The Big Island - Kauai
Early morning departure from your hotel for a tour of the other side of this magnificent “Big Island”. You will drive-through coffee Plantations and have a chance to sample some world-famous Kona coffee. The tour continues to “The Place of Refuge” where in ancient Hawaii women, children, and elders would flee from the battles; then to Punaluu Black Sand beach and on to the Volcanoes National Park, home of the only drive-through crater in the world. Here, you will visit all the highlights of the park, including the Jagger museum, and the Thurston lava tube. It’s then a short flight to Kauai, your final destination for today.
DAY 5 MONDAY
Kauai
Enjoy a day of leisure on Kauai. You have the choice of taking an exciting helicopter flight over this lush island or a tour to Hanalei, where the movie South Pacific was filmed.
DAY 6 TUESDAY
Kauai -Maui
Early departure to the southern side of Kauai to the Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. On a clear day, you should be able to catch a glimpse of the awe-inspiring Na Pali Coast valley whose emerald cliffs plunge 4,000 feet to the crashing surf below. Stops at Captain Cook’s landing, Hanapepe Valley, and Spouting Horn are some of the highlights of this tour. Take a short flight to Maui, where your tour ends for the day.
DAY 7 WEDNESDAY
Maui Enjoy a day of leisure on Maui. You have the choice of taking a tour of the old whaling town of Lahaina or spend some time enjoying beautiful Kaanapali Beach.
DAY 8 THURSDAY
Maui
Transfer to the airport to meet any flight, or you may extend your trip and enjoy the island of Maui by booking additional nights at the Royal Lahaina Resort.
